Branding is a buzz word these daysβpersonal branding, brand content, βitβs just part of my brand.β But what does it actually mean to have a strong visual brand? And why does it matter?? π€ A strong visual brand creates a memorable and consistent identity that helps build trust and recognition with your audience.
They might not remember your brandβs name but they will remember the perfectly placed lilac touches that made them associate those details with a need to buy the product. Colors and typography are details that differentiate and identify your brand, its values and message. Creating a strong brand isnβt complicated, itβs about staying visually consistent and relevant over time. β°π
Here are 3 keys to a strong visual brand. Does your brand check them all off? π
β
Β Always use your brand colors (& fonts)
If you arenβt on brand then what are you even doing? Youβve created a whole ecosystem of fonts, colors and a voiceβuse it and stick to it! If itβs not working anymore, update it but never abandon your brand.
β
Β Never alter your logo
Maybe obvious, but your logo is how people know you. Donβt devalue it by using a fuzzy version, using off-brand colors or stretching it in disproportionate ways. These things all scream βunprofessional brandβ.
β
Β Have a detailed style guide
Somewhere keep detailed records of how the brand SHOULD look and sound so that if you ever feel off track, you know exactly where to look to get back on track. Every style guide should have these 4 things, and everything else is just good style π:

βοΈ Logoβhow to use it, and how to NEVER use it
π¨Β Brand colorsβwith color codes (hex, rgb and cymk if you want to really get it right every time)
Building a strong visual brand involves consistently using your brand colors and fonts, maintaining the integrity of your logo, and having a detailed style guide to ensure your brand remains memorable and professional. π¨Β πΒ β¨οΈ
