Why Sticky Brand Details Are Perfect For Social Media Engagement
It’s not often you get to tell everyone every sticky, ooey-gooey detail of your brand.. Where did the idea for your logo come from? How did you get your idea to start the business?? Why are you passionate about it???
But it’s the stuff people who are really passionate about their brand nerd out on!! And this is the best time in history to own a business because there’s a place where people want to hear more about your business, and they definitely want more than an elevator pitch. On the heels of movies like Gucci and Barbie, brands are coming to life (literally) and while your story might not be as old or as well-funded, your brand has the potential to tell a story–and that’s what people are looking for on social media.
Brand details ARE perfect for creating a series on Reels and/or TikTok.
Unlike your website, where people are primarily there to purchase, you can get into every single brand detail you find interesting and find other people who think it’s interesting–and maybe even become clients. Think of your social media as your Brand Rabbit Hole, where people who really want more from your brand will go.
The more you show who your brand is, the more people who’s interest will be sparked and will be genuinely engaged with your content, and the more people will come to you rather than you looking for followers. This creates a more engaged community, and gives you clients that actually care!
Here are 6 regular series ideas, inspired by your brand, to engage your followers via video:
Origin story: what brought you to this particular business?
Goals: What are some of the goals you have for your business? Share what’s to come!
Lessons: What have you learned since you started?
Process: show snippets of your process to show people “how it started” and “how it’s going”
Favorites: Do you have favorite things you’ve made or do? Show them off and explain why they’re your favorite!
Partners + Collaborations: Get together with a sister-business or a collaborative project, and show off what you’ve done together! Be sure to “collaborate” on the post on insta, and tag each other everywhere else.
Break the answers to these questions up over a few weeks. If you can film it all at once and then use it later–that’s even better! (see, batching) This will help you tap into the power of nostalgia and truly help your brand operate on a more personal level on social media.
