July is World Watercolor Month, a celebration of all things watercolor. Officially deemed a holiday month for watercolor artists in 2016, it continues today using the hashtag #WorldWatercolorMonth on applicable social media platforms.
Watercolor is often considered a little kids hobby; a little plastic watercolor containers mixed in with back to school supplies. But watercolor is an ephemeral and varied art form that almost anyone can try!

The Importance of a Social Media Following for Artists and Designers π±
Following artists and designers on social media is sometimes make or break for exposure in their career. Someone could make the most amazing art or clever designs, and if the works arenβt seen, they might as well be a tree falling in a forest with no one around. That isnβt to say the work isnβt important but art and design are meant to be seen, appreciated and in the case of designβutilized, which is why social media can be such a critical tool to furthering artistic and design careers.
Artists have existed through all of historyβjust as designers haveβbut this is probably one of the single best times in history to be an artist because with a simple photo or digital version of what you created you can reach hundreds of thousands of people. Your share creates another share, and word of mouth is forever changed. Itβs not just your grandma telling her friends, itβs people who βmight like thisβ, people you knew in high school, people youβve never met creating this wide network.
We donβt want to harp on it too much, so without further delay check out some of our favorite watercolor artists right now!
