The Power of a genuine Thank You and other reciprocal communications ๐
Social media is a game of thank yous and thank you toos. ๐
Reciprocity is a consistent give and take process that every brand and follower participates in. The brand giving the content for a follower to say thank you for them to say thank you too for watching for them to watch another video and for the brand to say thank you, and so on and so forth in an endless cycle (theoretically) of reciprocal actions. ๐
This is employed by Taylor Swift at EVERY one of her concerts, and with it she elicits emotions and tears. In her Eras tour film (cinema darrrrrling) she says something along the lines of, โYouโre making me feel so GOOD right now!โ and each tour, a variation on โThank you for choosing to spend your time with meโ followed by a lovely serenade to the audience. ๐ฅน
ImagineโTaylor Swift, international musical artist, saying that you โchoseโ to spend your time with her (which is true, but is not always acknowledged or appreciated!)โno wonder people are so hung up on her concerts that theyโll stand in the rain to listen. ๐คฏ
This is not unique to Taylor, nor did she invent this concept, but she does a great job of employing it because of the emotion and genuineness that she puts behind it. ๐

Now, take a step further into your imagination: brands you LOVE, brand you share, brands you couldnโt live without saying โthank youโ TO YOU for using the product, for following on social, for being a stan. How great would that feel?! And why? A brand you feel genuine emotion (love, excitement, need, etc.) for is expressing emotion backโand that emotion is gratitude. ๐
Never forget where you started and who got you thereโis really the lesson, but the bigger lesson (other than you started from the bottom now the whole team here) is to remember to SHOW your gratitude to your followers and customers by meeting them consistently in the same spot. Building trust that youโll both show up again and again. Showing them how โweโve all done thisโ is as simple as thank them for helping with milestones, goals theyโve helped you achieve, and alsoโฆjust for being there. ๐
A little thank you can go a long way, so imagine what a consistent thank you can do! ๐
