Social Media: Your Virtual Closet ๐๐ฉฒ๐งฆ๐ฉณ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐
How to plan social media like you'd plan outfits ๐
๐ค Having a planned outfit is better than winging it (most days). Why shouldnโt your social media be the same?

Anyone who has been to any event in which they had to plan ahead forโeven dumb, matching family vacation shirtsโknows prepping the wardrobe is essential. If you think of the posts people see on your profile as equivalent to the clothes theyโd see on you in person, then itโs easy to see the importance of planning.
What youโre creating is a โclosetโ of images for people to dig through much as Cher looked at her options in โCluelessโ. Most people will probably remember you more for these images than what theyโd see in person, both because of the reach social media hasโa lot of people may never see you in personโand also because of the repeatability of your profile content. Thatโs why putting your best, planned, foot forward is key on social media!
๐คฉ Showing Off Your Style
In the same way clothes give off a vibe, so does your social media! Thatโs not to say it has to be perfectly curated but putting out something that reflects your brand is important. You can think of your branding as your styleโwhile you might โbranch outโ and try something, you probably wonโt change your whole look over that one trend you saw at H&M.
Branding + clothes are the exact same way. You can try on trendsโbut ultimately sticking with who you are is easier, and more comfortable in the long run.
๐โโ๏ธ Parts of a Post: if it were an outfit
Letโs take this a step further.. If your posts were an outfit what would the part-for-part equivalents be?
๐๐๐ Shirt: Visual (photo, reel, tiktok, etc.)
People see your shirt way more than they see any other part of your outfit. A graphic tee, a button up, a crop topโthey all send a different message, just like different image and content styles do.
๐ Bottoms: Caption
The next thing theyโll see is the captionโor the bottoms. This gives context to the things above while still adding personality.
๐งฆ Undergarments + Socks: Hashtags, Location & Timing
The things theyโre likely to either not see or ignoreโsmall details like hashtags, location, and timing. These things all matter in the grand scheme of things!
๐ Shoes + Accessories: Audio, Tags, etc.
The little things that make your unique details stand out! Think trending things like audio and tags (similar to how sometimes silver jewelry is in and sometimes gold jewelry is in).

Once you start thinking about content less as 1-time-use, disposable pieces and more like a closet of things to be put together and recreated, youโll start finding freedom in your social media content creation journey!

It all seemed so easyโฆ.until something changed!! ๐ฅด Wellโdonโt make change your enemy when it comes to socialโembrace it:
๐งจ Spontaneous Changes
There are some days you wake up and what you plannedโwell, you arenโt feeling it. Thatโs okayโstore that away, just as you would an outfit youโll save for laterโand create something with what you already have. You might even like a part of the outfit but think that another part needs updating. Go for it!!
๐ Weather Changes
Sometimes the weather forces us to change our outfit plans because suede doesnโt go with rain, and heels donโt go with mudโthe same can be said for social media. If you have an unexpected event, emergency or changeโdonโt be afraid to change up your plan to reflect and push your planned post to another day!
