Bye-bye birdie! What is Bluesky? 🦋
If you’ve been craving twitter, not x, we have a solution for you! ✨🦋✨
It seems like there’s ALWAYS a new app to discover these days, and as people become more and more fed up with social media giants like Meta, they’re looking for something new. Bluesky is the newest app, a replacement for Twitter (x) as people leave in droves. It seems people are saying bye to the bird, and hello to the butterfly. 🦋
As giant groups of people leave twitter, not only because of the platform’s owner, but because of policies going into place that content posted will train a new AI bot. This, in addition to the multitude of bad decisions since its new ownership began like changing the name from twitter to X, an increase in ads, paying for blue check marks, censorship and the spread of misinformation since 2022 has led to people either leaving the app, or seeking an alternative. 😮💨
This is how people found Bluesky. 🤩
Currently trending in the apple app store, and surpassing 20m users—Bluesky could be the finishing touch on the downfall of twitter. 🫖
The app itself is pretty simple to use, and is basically a newer version of what twitter used to be. ⏮️
✨ With a home feed, a search bar, messages, notifications, and of course your own profile. There are no links within your profile, but you can post links—with previews—in the feed.
✨ The app boasts reply threads, reposts and favorites. In addition, it offers robust personalization options like “Show More (or less) Like This” as well as muting words, or specific tags.
✨ You can choose to see things in the Discover tab (the Bluesky equivalent of an FYP) or choose to see only who you’re following; things do not show up in chronological order.
What do you think about the newest social app? Will you be leaving twitter to join Bluesky?? 👀
