Well, it happened. 😔 Everyone’s favorite app for research, information, book recommendations, new music, life hacks, deep cleanings, ASMR, and more is set to be ban in the US as of January 19 2025. 😢
It’s still unclear how things will move forward after this, but the ban means not only will we not be able to enjoy our regularly scheduled programming, but influencers and creators who monetize from it will have to find somewhere new to go if they aren’t already big on other platforms.
Make sure that your community can keep up with you by adding links on your TikTok profile. They have direct options for Youtube and Instagram, which make it easy for everyone to hit subscribe elsewhere. They also have an option where you can use any web address, or email someone. There are a few requirements to have links on your profile if you’re not a business profile, so if that doesn’t work consider promoting your other channels in captions, or mentioning them in a video.

🎨 If you’re a creator trying to figure out where to go try monetization on Youtube. You might already have an account, if you don’t, now is a good time to start by creating a page and transferring over your current content from TikTok to Youtube.
💌 You could also look into creating your own Substack, which allows for flexible content like videos, podcasts and texts via email (like this one).
Pro-tip: Don’t forget to tailor your content, this might mean re-editing or even finding a new creation process!
