Re-Utilizing Your Brand Content on Social Media 💫
How to create the best visual version of your brand online without creating any new content 😏
You’ve spent days, weeks and years investing in your brand and building it up. Photoshoots, website re-vamps and service changes to say the least–and through each challenge you’ve conquered it all.
Now it’s time to take that hard work and re-utilize it to make your social media journey, easier than ever. 😌
From brand photos, to videos, to products shots and behind-the-scenes (BTS) content you probably have a good archive of your brand that was for the website or printed pieces, but have you shown that off on Instagram, TikTok or other social media platforms? 🤩
With the ever-changing virtual landscape it’s easier than ever to get creative with old content. Here are some ways your brand can utilize content you already have:
🎨 Revamping a product
Hype up the new up by showing off the old! Show first photos you ever took with a behind the scenes story, including why you think it’s important/exciting/fun to share this with your customers. Remember, excitement is contagious–so be excited about the updates, and don’t be shy about how something started out–that’s what got you to where you are.
Ways to Revamp:
Add a color option: everyone loves a new color choice, show off the original and then drop the new!
Show a non-launched product/design/idea/etc: this lets people see what’s going on bts, but also can help gather feedback on whether something you’re thinking about for your brand has an actual demand before ever launching!
Visual timeline: where you started vs where you’re at
Process of how you updated the brand/product/design: talk about it in a video or show old footage/images of the process
🪩 Showing off
Show off all the cool things your brand has done, made, seen, been a part of. This is the place where you can talk about how that photoshoot actually went bts, show some personality and give a personality to your brand.
Things you can show off:
Unused/alternate shots of brand photography: the little details are what people find interesting and what give you personality, don’t be afraid to show them
Behind the scenes videos you sent to friends about or with the product (within reason): if you took a video saying “Look a prototype” or “Look a new color” or “Look almost done” and showed off any bit of the brand…that’s content babe! Use it!
Ask people who have posted about your brand if you can repost them (don’t ask for new content, that’s content creation): it will be exciting for someone who truly loves your brand and good content for you to convert future customers!
😎 Don’t Lose Your Cool
Above all, when maintaining a brand–keep your cool. If you need to schedule content and take a break, or even pull back how much you’re selling–that’s okay.
If there’s one rule to social media, it’s that it’s not that deep:
Schedule Content: to save yourself time and effort on days where you might not have that much of either
Take Breaks: it might be an engagement killer but what’s worse is if your brand fails altogether. Remember social media is only part of your brand–if you need to take a step back to work on other things that’s okay.
Avoid getting stuck in the scroll: after you get on a roll it might be easy to get stuck in a loop on your phone, but scheduling content and time for social media can help you and your brand stay on track.
If your brand is still having trouble getting focused on social media it might be time to revisit your social media strategy and make sure it aligns with your marketing strategy, and brand as a whole. Consider coaching or strategy help if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Social media should be the place where your brand has fun. Don’t sweat it and lose your cool…just look at what you already have!
